Importance of compost
Compost is a type of fertilizers that the plant requires for its growth. Compost contains both Nitrogen and Carbon nutrients that are good for plant growth and nutrition provision.
Types of Compost
- Compost with worms
In this type of compost, earth warms play a major role in preparing the fertilizer. All the kitchen waste collected from the kitchen is fed to the earth worms. Earthworms in turn eat this kitchen waste and convert the waste into a fertilizer product that is useful for plants. It is a rich source of nitrogen and carbon. The main ingredients are all the green wastes such as, vegetables and fruits, that are used as food for earthworms. The conversion process takes one or two months for the compost to be used for plants. There are different types of compost bins that are available in the market for compost preparation. This type of compost is completely chemical free and has a high level of nutrient source for plants.
- Compost without worm : earthworms are not used in the process of making compost. Different methods are used for generating this compost.
